Variety show makes a comeback in 2015
Students, get ready, because on Feb. 5, BG will once again be hosting a variety show. Anyone is welcome to try out, so practice your singing, dancing, juggling or miming skills and sign up to audition.
“The variety show is being brought back this year because Student Council really wanted it and we decided to give it a try,” Resource assistant Chip Mahlman said.
The last time BG had a variety show was about four or five years ago, but due to popular demand it is now making a come back.
In order for the show to be successful, students should feel open to audition anything. Not only are students welcome, but teachers as well. Mahlman is trying to get both faculty members and students to show off their talents.
The auditions will be held Dec. 17 and 18 in the choir room, and if there is a big turnout, the auditions will be extended to an extra date. A sign-up sheet will be posted in the cafeteria, near the Student Council office.
“I am hoping for a turnout of a wide cross section of the school’s population, the more acts the better, but students also need to remember that it’s a variety show and not a talent show,” Mahlman said. “The main thing is to get kids involved as it is a good chance for kids to perform and get on stage to see how they like performing on their own.”
